Reflective Commentary- Sustainable Style Guide Twine can be used in multiple ways to convey multiple messages. Foremost, the website can be used to create games with different playable pathways for users; examples of this include the ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ games. As well as this, Twine can be used to convey topical information in digestible amounts. Regardless of the purpose, Twine serves as an engaging way to interact with users. For my Twine story, I wanted to highlight the importance of extending the life of the clothes you already own to avoid overconsumption of fashion. I tried to make my story accessible by using 3 ‘typical’ items of clothing that people already own, as well as categorising outfits using these items under common activities. Reflective Commentary- Secondhand StopShop: Creating app prototypes is an effective way to plan concept ideas in an interactive way. Using Marvel, creating playable prototypes is both straightforward and cost-effective. Brands can utilise this tool to create basic, functioning apps for experiences such as sales or promotion. Apps such as the BOF magazine use basic functions such as the scrollbar paired with visuals to engage the user whilst remaining simplistic. For the concept of my app prototype, I wanted to create an accessible tool that provided key information regarding local second-hand shops to people who may be new to the Slow Fashion community. By displaying all key information about local shops, collected by other users (such as Specialities and Donations), I believed that it would make the transition from first-hand buying to second-hand buying easier for many people.
